Internet Marketing Politics FTC to Rule on Endorsements & Testimonials
Kris over at Cash Tactic has a great post on NEW FTC rules regarding Endorsements & Testimonials.
If you know anything about the Acai Berry or the Google Bizops going around then you will know that most of the landing pages that affiliates are creating have several testimonials included. Here are some experts from the new amendment to these rules. These were last updated in 1980!

These changes are going to affect how we do business in the future so hold on as are government tries to protect us all.
So tell me what you think of this change?

Hi Robert,
These rulings are definitely going to change the idea of the affiliate marketing game! No longer is it advisable to have the so called army of affiliates promoting our products. I think advertisers will have to approve affiliates, plus I would recommend that only people that have actually purchased your product should become an affiliate.
As advertisers we are now meant to keep an eye on our affiliates and find out where and how they are promoting our products and what they are saying about it in order the legally protect ourselves.
I have put a disclaimer box on my blog to let people know that I am an affiliate. Mike Young has some software that helps write terms, policies etc etc. First Google brings in the laws that requires everyone who has a website that has there adverts on must have privacy policy, plus the spam laws and now FTC, definitely keeps us on our toes!!!
Great Post!
